What is happening to our rainforest?
In geography, we will be exploring the intricate relationship between humans and the vital ecosystem of the rainforest. This enquiry will encompass land use and its impact on the rainforest and how the principles of sustainability can be used to mitigate these impacts both in the rainforests and the wider world.
English - explanation texts about the lifecycles of animals, linking to our science topic. Narratives inspired by The Lion, The Witch and The wardrobe.
Maths – The place value of numbers up to 1 million. Applying the four operations to solve problems
Art – Typography, the effect and purpose of fonts. Creating our own fonts inspired by rainforests.
Music – rhythm and beat keeping, singing, body percussion – based on 'Livin on a Prayer'
PE – Tuesday and Thursday (Netball and Squash)
Science – Living things and their habitats – Understanding the life cycles of mammals, reptiles, insects, amphibians and birds
